# Minting Discount for New Users

If you’re new to Halo, you can earn XP to unlock a minting discount for your HMP.

* The more XP you earn, the higher your discount.
  * Earn 100 XP to enjoy 20% off, 160 XP to enjoy 40% off
* This helps you get started with Social Mining while reducing upfront costs.
* Each address is limited to minting one HMP only.
* XP earned without an HMP is capped, and any excess will not be retained.
